Drain Jetting and Clearance

The problems caused by blocked pipes can vary from small debris to huge piles of rubbish and much more. This can cause the drains to smell and hence health risks of standing waste water. However, knowing what type of drain clearance is going to be most suited to your needs isn’t always easy especially if you are unsure of the location and severity of the blockage.

At LUG UK, we are very skilled at sorting out such kind of drainage blockages using drain Jetting. We use high power drain jetting which is the most effective for clearing larger, external sewers and drain networks. Water is sprayed through Jetting equipment tube at up to 5,000 psi, providing enough power to crack and break down obstructive materials, such as grease, fats, leaves and other waste debris.

Drain jetting is particularly suitable for clearing sand deposits, and provides a clean and highly efficient method of clearing most blockages from your drains.

Surveying

The cause or location of the blockage may not be clear thus there are a number of surveys and tests we can conduct to determine the right course of action and solutions.

We undertake the following:

  • CCTV Drain Surveys – We use advanced technology and equipment to surveys sending CCTV footage down into pipe work, with images monitored over ground by a drainage expert. Using CCTV equipment gives the clearly indicates the possible extent and location of the blockage, while also helping to identify other damage.

  • Dye Testing – Most often used to spot leaks, dye testing adds harmless coloration to the water supply, allowing to check the flow of waste water through the system as well as to verify which outlets stem from which drains.

  • Drain Tracing. Often used alongside CCTV surveys, drain tracing uses locators such as sonar or metal detectors to trace the layout of your drainage system. This can help you to understand the makeup of your drains and sewers, identifying potential problem areas or concealed sections that may be causing problems.
